Bonjour everyone,
Here's something I would like to share with you guys!
It's been almost a month I've started work. I'm actually working in a Paris brand at the front line and definitely needed some simple French to start conversation with.
"More than 200 million people speak French on the five continents. French is the second most widely learned foreign language after English, and the ninth most widely spoken language in the world. French is also the only language, alongside English, that is taught in nearly every country in the world." (extracted from learnfrenchinsingapore.com)
Many people are starting to learn French because of work, a good example will be me, and some because of relationship and family. There're many expats from France coming to Singapore to work as well. So there's a need to have at least some basic knowledge of French. :)
I was lucky to be able to sit in and experience a French class going on and I was pretty impress.
The small-group French class I sat in was in their intermediate level, and was about to prepare for their exams.
And so, I get to experience how about the teachers will guide the students to prepare for their exams and the points that needed to pass it.
One of the French speakers, Maria, and I find her very friendly and approachable, and she also share more of the French culture as well which is necessary especially when meeting French clients or friends.
I don't understand most of the conversation in the French class though. It's mainly because I've never been to the beginner class to learn. But at least I learnt a few simple word such as "Nom" and "Pre-Nom" which means Family Name and Last Name respectively. :)
The students were given an exercise like the one below, where they have to listen to a conversation in French and then, tick the correct answer.
Other exercises was given out to let us learn how to fill forms and describe the images in French.
And so I tried to fill it too.

Some people learn French for leisure purpose and they can opt out the exams while those who wants to get a certification, they'll need to take the exams. I'm sure the teachers will definitely be a very guide to help the students pass the exams.
If you're working and would want to take up French lessons, there's night classes
from 8.30pm - 10pm.
I must say it's very fun learning French because French is such a romantic and each words have beautiful meaning in it.
